Hello everyone,
Here is the ever growing Master Collection for all of transcriptions done by me, GUIM. If you would like to know more about these tunes and music in general, then jump on over to Patreon.com/GUIM although I imagine most people will be coming here FROM Patreon.
READ ME:
These transcriptions are meant to provide all of the notes found within these classic video game tunes. These transcriptions generally do not contain dynamic markings and they exclude doubled notes as well as notes acting as a "delay" effect. The only time delayed notes are included is if they are pertinent to the composition's information. Often it will simply state the notes are delayed via text. Lastly, sometimes rhythmic rests are omitted to keep reading simple, but as always... use your ears! You're here because you have already been listening to these tunes for years so don't stop now!
You're more than welcome to use these charts as means for playing and education, but please DO NOT remove my credit as transcriptionist and certainly DO NOT SALE these transcriptions (it's illegal anyways). Additionally, DO NOT link these up on other websites, please link this blog instead. Some of these transcriptions can take hours to prepare for public release so I appreciate you respecting these wishes.
COMING SOON:
I often have a lot of charts that have not been formatted for release and as a result I'll put up a "Coming Soon" section for them if I have at least finished a full transcription for that game. If you would like to request any as priority, please drop a comment below. If you're a patron, this will carry more weight, but it never hurts to ask! Eventually they'll all be up anyways.
CHORD DECIPHERING:
As a heads up, I typically do not write Major chords with only the letter. Instead I write them with ∆, so for example C∆ = C, E, G. This might seem silly, but it's simply a preference. Additionally, this helps differentiate between chords and individual notes as that can sometimes be tricky for newcomers. Other symbols are fairly standard, but if you ever have any questions, please let me know.
Additionally, be mindful of the bass lines. Typically I have them written with the bass guitar in mind. This means that if you're playing on piano or a non-transposing instrument you might have to drop the line down by an octave. The notes are still the same, it's just a matter of register. Let your ear guide you. This also has the added bonus on not having ten or more ledger lines! Haha.
MISSING CHORDS/PARTS:
Eventually all charts will contain full parts (drums included) and chord symbols, but I do not guarantee that everything currently meets that level of detail.
If you happen to find any issues such as incorrect transcriptions, broken links, wrong titles, and/or mismatched PDFs please let me know!
LEAD SHEETS:
I eventually plan to also construct lead sheets for charts that I think bode well. This is super beneficial for any cats that are wanting to jam on these tunes. If you would like to request any particular lead sheets, drop a comment.
SIBELIUS and MIDI FILES:
I write my notation into Sibelius so I cannot provide Musescore files. That said, if you would like .SIB or .MIDI files, please let me know. This is exclusive to patron only due to time constraints.
